Default Bringing our Pup Home

Its finally time!

Next Sunday I get to go and collect our 8 week old German Sheperd. I am totally prepared (have been for ages since this is something I have wanted for ages)

I have just realised however, that there is something I have overlooked.

Traditionally with any other dog I have had, I have just had them in the back of the car, or on my lap with another person driving, especially with a pup. I am still intent on doing this now this time with this pup, as we are only a hour away from where we are collecting our pup from, however I'm interested in others views on this.

Friend of mine got a pup recently and put him in a small open top box to transport, others have put them in crates (which I could borrow at a push but I'm not keen on the idea)

So.... any preferences, hints, tips, opinions on this?

Congrats on new family member! Can someone drive and you hold puppy? I would not crate unless the dog is crate trained. You want to have the crate be a gradual, positive experience--not a shocking confinement.

Enjoy your new baby!
