Smile New Family Member

Good Morning All!

We added a new family member last week. We think she is about 7 months old or so. she was 35 pounds last sat.
My question is what is she?! I can tell shes got German Shepherd in here from her ears of course! and that what attracted me to her besides the fact that shes stinkin adorable
Any ideas?

Also any tips on puppies would be great. I havent had to deal with a puppy in forever! So far shes pretty good. main problem is she sneaks away and poops in the house. in the same spot! shes done it 3 times. I have never caught her in the act so I cant tell her no So is a big jumper! she can jump very high!! like almost over my head and I'm 5'4". we are working on that. and shes slowly getting better.

Oh and her name is Remmington aka Remmy

TIA!

Welcome!

She's beautiful and to me, looks like a white German Shepherd.

Can't give you many puppy tips, as I adopted mine as an adult, but there are many people on this forum with lots of helpful info.

Have fun with her!

She looks like a white GSD to me but I am no expert

I would say, to curb the pooping, don't let her out of your sight. Since you know she sneaks away, tether her to you so she can't go off by herself and praise praise praise when she poos outside!!

Find the valuable "treat" and start some training I personally make mine work for everything, like sits, before eating, or getting a collar on. That kind of thing. Crate train for sure

list any other particular issues and I'm sure others could help more with advice!

oh I praise like crazy when she goes potty outside. Went camping with her for the first time labor day weekend. Took her almost 24 hours before she went potty. our other dog, Gunnar, Looked at me like I was crazy when I praised her for finally going potty! lol

We have started training her. Simple sit and shake for now. She still wants to jump like crazy when I get her food but it getting better and knows to sit otherwise she wont get the food.
in the week that we've had her shes already getting better. She has found the toy boxes and chews on any toy thats in there and hasnt chewed up anything else shes not supposed to. Thank goodness! I hope it stays that way!
The main issue is her sneaking away to poop in the house. I was thinking of putting Gunnar's christmas jingle bells on her so we know where shes at hahaha.

Shes definately a puppy and I cant wait until shes older and out of the puppy stage! but she is good for a laugh thats for sure!

Sometimes it is hard to tell when they are young. Going by the pics you posted, she very well could be purebred.

If you can, post some more pictures as she grows, because I'd be interested in seeing her grow up.

She's a cutie!

I just realized that her eyes look to be a light color? At least they do in a couple of the pictures. Are they blue?

They are light colored. I cant put my finger on what color exactly. kinda like a greyish amberish color.

I will definately post pictures as she gets older.
Hows this picture to see her eye color?

(she jumped in front of my sunset shot lol)

Hmm, still hard for me to tell exact color. Looks like she's having fun bouncing around for the camera!

You may never really know for certain, but she very well could be and the most important thing is she got a great home and you got a beautiful little pup!
