Default What mix would you guess?

I'm sure this is a fairly common questions. I've been searching through the forums for a couple days hoping maybe i'd come across a puppy that resembled my Roxy. Alas, to no avail, I am here asking everyone else's opinion.

My family and I just recently adopted a shelter dog. We went there for one but unfortunately he didn't work out too well with my beagle and children. Before we left we decided to take a look at the other dogs when I came across this little gem. She instantly chose us to be hers. She was so sweet. A little fearful but not at all aggressive. Just unsure. She gets along so well with Link (my Beagle) and my two kids, ages 2 and 7. She's full of energy now and is such a quick learner. She does amazing on a leash and loves her walks.

The shelter guesses her to be about 3 months old and she weighs 16.3 lbs. They said she was lab mix. My husband and I have been scratching our heads trying to guess her mix. I came to this specific forum for the obvious ears she has! They are constantly erect and because of that, everyone believes she has some shepherd in her.

Regardless of what she is, she is an absolute doll and I love her so much. I'd just like to hear what other people may think.

This is my first post so I hope I do this right.

Sorry I'm not very good at guessing mixes. But she is just adorable and those certainly do look like shepherd ears. Looks like you were very lucky that she chose you.

I also think that she has GSD in her. My female, Sabra, was all ears as a baby and still has ears that are taller/longer than her mother's. Welcome to the forum. I have three words of advice - exercise and training - for her now and keep up with it. She looks wonderful.

Thanks!

I thought I was getting a lab mix for the energy, anyway. We wanted a pup that was going to be able to keep up with us. We are all about family bike rides, runs, hiking. Our beagle was extremely rambunctious as a pup. He's calmed down quite a bit but she sure is whipping him back in shape. They play so well together.
So far it appears that we are going to have to keep up with her, which is totally ok with us.

My dad has a black lab/terrier mix with the same coat as well. Same white markings too. But those ears! I adore them.
