Default Just put down deposit on new boy.

He is 6 weeks old today. We got very first pick. He is coming home in two weeks. Very excited. Mother and Father are both black/red german working lines. Mother is very light, father is dark. Should be a nice combination.
We picked him because he continued to come to me when I made a noise. His coat was very clean, clear eyes, and healthy feeling body.

I'll update with pictures in a few weeks.
His name is Duke.

Congrats !!! It's gotta be tough to wait but it sounds like you can go visit Duke in the mean time.

Life's going to get even more fun now.

Went to see 'Duke' again. 7 weeks old now. He is going to be a good dog. Checked all his coat, eyes, skin etc. Over again, all good. I kept walking away from him and the clapping. Every time he ran straight to me. Played with him for about 20 minutes. Then played with remaining dogs for 10 minutes or so.
In my excitement, I forgot the camera. Maybe next time?
12 more days to wait!!!!

Congratulations. Waiting is tough. How come 12 more days, shouldn't it be 7?

I am taking a couple weeks off work, which will start in 12 days. The breeder agreed to keep Duke with his litter until the Friday after eight weeks.

Sounds like you and I are on the exact same schedule! My guy, Equinox (Nox for short) was born May 26 and we're picking him up on Jul 25 or 26 when he's just over 8.5 weeks, depending on if my hubby can do a half day on the 25th. Same reason as you - I'm taking a few weeks off starting Jul 28. I can't wait! I just posted his pics on an earlier thread - he's a little cutie! And I'm sure your Duke is just as cute, whenever you get pics.

Awesome!!!
I literally couldn't sleep last night thinking about him. It's a little crazy. A grown man acting like a six year old on Christmas. Very excited.

Congrats on your new baby.
