Purebred or No?

Hi everyone,
we're looking for a new puppy and we came across a breeder that is NOT AKC registered. However, we saw the mom on sight who looks purebred but the papa shepherd wasn't. They claim the puppies are 100% purebred but I'd love your opinions on it. In this picture he is 6 weeks old. If he is not purebred can anyone guesstimate what his other 50% may be?

at his age the only thing I know is that he is 100% adorable. Do you have any photos of mummy and daddy.?

My furs are not in storage, nor draped across the bed. They're peering out the kennel door just waiting to be fed.

Looks like an adorable sable GSD to me.
Though I agree with Jelpy. You can't be 100% sure at this age.
So, the father is a mix? If the breeder says that the pups are pure bred, who told you that the father is a mix? Could you post pictures?

I don't have pictures of both the parents. I just saw the mom in person and then I saw the pops picture on the breeders phone. My friend(who's a german shepherd fanatic) says he doesn't seem purebred because he has pointy ears and not floppy ones.

I think they can stand at 6 weeks. But I also wondered about that.

In any case, he looks pure and adorable but unless you have papers from a trustworthy breeder you will never know for sure.

The ears can definitely be up at six weeks. One of my guy's littermates had erect ears at five weeks. My guess is that this pup is a pure GSD.
