My pup chewed up my $$$

Normally I'm pretty careful about putting my clothes on a high counter to keep them away from my 8 month old pup. Yesterday I wore shorts for the first time because the weather was getting warm, when I went to bed I just dropped them and went to sleep. I woke up this morning and my shorts were gone, my bedroom sliding glass door was open so walked outside to my deck and my shorts were there my money pocket ripped out and $700 in 100s and 20s strewn about some chewed up. I grabbed what I could but the cash was too damp to count so I'll find out later when I get home.

I think I would have a heart attack if my dog ruined that much money!

Why do you carry so much money in your pants? It would really suck to lose all of that money if you were ever robbed.

You need to follow your pup around and geta ll the pieces of the money you can find with serial numbers on it. If you can prove it, the bank will give you replacement.

crazy, you sleep at nigh with an outside door to your bedroom wide open. german shepherd or not to warn you of a thief. how do you stop bugs from getting in? i only ask 'cause we have a door to the back from our room too. if i take too long getting me and the dogs out to make peeps and poops, i get like 2 seconds of door open time in the summer 'till her head slips out from the blanket and screams "you're letting the bugs in!".

I don't know where the OP lives and I am not trying to be rude but I understand you close and lock your doors at night you live in NJ. I myself live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana and I leave my doors and windows open at night! Not many bugs to come inside at 55 degrees which it is almost every night! My biggest fear is a skunk trying to get in! Oh and there is a sign out front that reads "Dog bites and Human shoots". Only one is really true lol!

I was under the impression by reading it that the dog opened the door, not that it was already opened...but I could be wrong

OP said it was a sliding glass door so I imagine it was already open.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. To get the bank to replace any currency, you need to present pieces with both matching serial numbers from the upper right and bottom left. I know because my cats chewed up a couple of twenties and I could only get one replaced.

I had $2000 in cash in my wallet yesterday (deposit for my braces) and I came back into the lounge after getting dressed to find cash all over the room. Lucky my pup was only interested in my wallet (she chewed my face off my driver's license) and the money just fell out as she ran from the table with it. Such a relief though when it was all accounted for!

might be time to take a little of the cash and get a kennel
