Ears!

So I know that it's normal for the puppies to have floppy ears at first. But now Ada has one up and one down. I'm just curious why are they floppy when they are little and then stand straight up when they get older? Is it a nerve that become stronger or what?

The cartilage in the ears are not fully developed.

Ah makes since. It's common for them the develop at different times right?

Question for you. Will love your dog any less if they do not stand up equally or at all?

Very common, yes

Teething makes the ears go down if they're up. They will go up once teething stops the body's calcium is being used for teething rather than for the ears right now

Of course I will LOVE my dog no matter how she turns out! It all about the way you as person raise the animal anyways! But even if I found out she was mutt I'd love with all of my heart! I have huge heart for all animals and if I could I would rescue all the animals I could from shelters! I am new to GSD, my father had two when I was young and they were both great as much as I can recall. They only dog I have had in my adult life is a beagle, and it's possible that she could've mixed but I love her for the personality that she has. I have no children and both of my dogs are my fur babies. They are the reason I come straight home from work every day. I look forward to coming home to my fur babies.

Thanks for asking.

So she's is still teething and I expect her to do that for a while because she is only 7 weeks old. Will the one ear that's up now go down and the than come back up?
