Dude now six months

Dude is now about 6 months and is 46.7 #'s . I made the appointment yesterday and he will be neutered next week.

As he is getting older he is looking more like a mix. Mom is GSD dad is ?? Any guesses?

I'm going to guess ' German Shepherd doesn't look mixed to me. I'm no judge but he is pretty! Growing up" and learning. Bill

Doesn't looked mixed to me, think he'll grow into those ears?

Aw he is so handsome! Definitely has some growing to do to catch up to those ears, adorable.

Another vote for no mix, just big pretty ears

Why are you neutering him so young? He looks like a GSD to me. He'll grow into those ears, as long as he keeps his hormones intact to do so! :)

Yep! Please wait until he is least 12 months old. There is plenty of info on this on the forum. It will greatly benefit him without turning him into the monster that many people make intact males out to be.

He is fearful. I'm afraid of what is going to happen when the hormones kick in. This is a decision made after talking to trainers and my vet. (who had recommended waiting until 18 months but changed her mind as his personality becomes more obvious).

So his testical removal will help his genetics? What is the drawback according to your trainer and vet of leaving him intact?
