Question Help determining the dad of this puppy

Hello everyone, this is the first post here and I need your help. About two months ago (he is 8 months old now) we adopted this cute puppy. We know the mother is a German Shepherd Dog but not the father. He has been found living with 8 other puppies in the south of Spain. Do you have any suggestions on what it could be a cross of?

Thank you so much in advance

Possibly Malinois but who knows for sure. What's his energy level like?

Could be anything! What is most common dog in area? His color looks Malinois...but also Lab....no way to tell without a DNA test...

A friend of mine adopted a beautiful black sable GSD through a rescue....he LOOKS purebred! But when you look at him, his head is shaped a bit different....and his personality is not GSD....his DNA said Boxer/Rot/GSD.....and the Boxer really fits his personality....so looks really are not always a good indicator!

He looks like a nice dog! So enjoy him!

I've thought about that too, but I am not quite sure. Others said it could be a Canary Island Dog since they are very common in Spain, especially in the south.

He loves to run and he is quick, when he is outside without a lead in the forest or something, he tries to play with every dog and runs around being very excited. When he is inside the house, he is mainly very calm and doesn't run around or jump. I would say yes he is energetic, but more in a balanced way.

Most likely one of the common street dogs out there and not necessarily a purebred one

In that picture all I see is GSD. I the color throwing you? Well, there are GSDs with that color. Is that ear flop throwing you? Well, that is not uncommon either. In fact, at this point, I would probably help that ear stand.

Without a picture of the dog standing, it is really impossible to get a good idea if the dog is a mixture or not, or what type of mixture it may be.

Nothing in that photo screams Malinois to me. It looks like a lot of GSDs I have seen.

Look on facebook. Makes me think about some kind of hound given the general "looseness" though at his age maybe he is just gangly.

His muzzle seems a bit long compared to other GSDs. Hound maybe .. sighthound?
