Puppy Coat Question--
If both a pups parents were black and tan, or black and red saddle-backs, how likely is it that the pups would be blanket-backs? I went to see some pups today and was just curious. It's not at all a deal breaker of course if he does come out a blanket-back, but as of right now I'm definitely more partial to the saddle-backs.

And sorry if this is in the completely wrong place, I couldn't find where to put a question like this.

You'd need the pedigree to figure out the question best :) It's not just the parents genetics but the grandparents, etc which play roles

But the easiest and fastest way though, ask the breeder - they should know what they're producing and be able to answer

These are the parents!
Sire: VA Chacco von der Freiheit Westerholt

Dam: V Jermany v Bullinger

Picture of the Dam because it doesn't show her:

I gave the breeder a shout today and she's pretty sure he'll be colored like this guy here:

WGSL, every one of those dogs in that pedigree has a saddle back so it would be safe to assume your puppy would also have a saddle back. Pups are very dark when they're younger, the black usually recedes for the black and red WGSL coloration

I agree the chances of him being a classic saddleback are very high, the father is gorgeous! I love the reds
