Puppy size

My boy is 7 weeks and he weighs 15 pounds. The vet said by his paws and weight he is going to be a monster. I know his dad was big. Around 130 pound. Just wondering what yalls puppy weighed or weighs around this age.

Empire was 9 pounds at 8 weeks.

Axel was 17 pounds at 9 weeks. Huge paws and everyone said he's going to be huge. Not necessarily so. He is a year old now and a nice lean 77 pounds. He'll still fill out but he won't be near as big as everyone told me he was going to be which is just fine with me.

Make sure to keep him lean to limit his chances for Pano. My pup (also large boned) is going through this and it is not fun.

My male was a very large puppy (about the same size as yours) and he maxed out at 75 lbs. His parents were larger also. It's very unlikely your pup's father was 130 lbs and not obese, so I would avoid using that as a goal or gauge. The size of the paws doesn't mean much- my female is very petite (she was 26 lbs at 16 weeks) but she has enormous paws. Keep him lean to keep his joints healthy if he's genetically on the side of oversized, and enjoy watching the progress :)

130 lbs is enormous! I agree with poster below me, that would seem unlikely. My guys dad was 95lbs and he was very, very big already. I've had shorter rotties that weighed more but they are supposed to be stocky, GS are not.Tiger (my puppy) was 13.5 lbs at 8 weeks.

I think the owner of the dad, over exaggerate then. what would i know ;) I just know he was way big. Either way if he is big or small, He is awesome. Just making sure he is eating right and growing. Thats why i was wondering if yalls were close to his.

As long as his body condition is good, he's growing just fine! He's such a cutie
