Default 3 month old puppy crate size???

I am getting my puppy and she will be shipped to me internationally from Australia soon. I've been talking to both the breeder and shipper and getting advise on the crate sizes to choose and there have been conflicting opinions from both.

I am not really sure what size should I choose, anyone got some thoughts on this???

I'd get the biggest one with a divider. Unless you want to buy a bigger one in a matter of months. My pup has grown so fast. I'm glad I didn't invest in a puppy crate.

Lol ok I just read your post again. I obviously missed the most important part about having puppy shipped. If that is what you're talking about then I'm not sure.

Yeah all I need to do is ship her. I don't need to keep the crate, the crate is probably going on eBay the moment my pup leaves the airport anyway.

Anyone with wisdom in this please help

For shipping, see if the breeder can take measurements of the pup, and depending on when the crate is supposed to arrive and when the pup is being shipped, add a couple inches to the current measurements.

Here's what a quick google search brought up:

I'm not sure how the different size crates will affect the shipping cost, that might be something to check into as well. I'm sure others that might have shipped a puppy or had one shipped to them (older pup) might have an idea. I would think the smallest size that would comfortably fit the puppy. Not sure about for extended shipments, though.

Why doesn't the breeder pick the crate for your pup to be shipped in. They will have a more accurate idea of what size to get and charge you for the crate. That is what our breeder is doing.

For shipping - have the breeder choose the crate & add the charges to your bill.
For home - I just get the size that fits a full grown GSD - never used a divider, yet to have an issue with crate soiling except with an illness - and the dog was full grown.
