Works for morning kibble

DD is on kibble in the AM and raw at PM. He works for his morning kibble and ever since we do this, instead of him gobbling up a bowl of kibble in 5 seconds, things have improved dramatically: much less biting, more focus and of course learning the basics and getting mentally tired too so he naps more frequently which makes petting and fussing over him a joy. And he doesn't need the extra calories of treats.

My husband does obedience with our puppy every meal, and we feed raw. He cuts the muscle meat into tiny chunks and uses that.

I really love using meal times for training, we've seen a lot of success with it. It is some of our best training sessions right now.

I've been doing the same with Chevelle, except she eats her kibble over the course of the day. I fill the dog bowl (on the counter) with her daily ration and just make sure she gets enough by the end of the day. I will bag some and we take it to work and through the day as we are training etc I am feeding her. Hopefully this is okay for her growth, to not have 2 or 3 MEALS a day, but to basically graze all day long. So far it's working great for puppy biting and motivation to behave.
