Default Puppy stopped pooping outside

My puppy is 10 months old now and have stopped pooping outside since yesterday. The temperature here dropped below -20 degrees Celsius last night and he would go outside to his usual spot but would not poop.

But when he comes inside he goes on the floor right away. This has happened 3 times in a row and he has been potty trained previously.

Does that happen when the temperature gets too cold? This is his first winter.

Yes - I think so at least for your pup having his first winter. I suggest you bundle up and go outside with him - take him for a walk or throw sticks so he runs and gets warmed up - that should do it.

at 10 months old i think your dog should be house trained.
take your dog more often. bring your dog in and wait
10 to 15 minutes and take him out again. make sure
when you take your dog intially you keep him out for the
required time.

Thank you that's what I thought. Last night he went out first, got into the position to poop but "gave up" and went to the door wanting to go back inside. I kept him in the crate for 30 minutes and took him out again. He did his business the second time but I don't think he was happy about it I did notice he was shivering a bit when he was coming back inside.

On a related note, should I still brush him during the wintertime? Everytime I brush him a lot of undercoat come out. Should I stop brushing him so he can retain some of the warmth?

I brush my Sting everyday, did the same with all my dogs. There is always some shedding, but new hair is also growing in all the time. Not brushing doesn't stop the hair loss.
