Don't know about the females. I asked my vet about the males.

Well ****. My no longer future pup was from one of the areas mentioned in the link. Guess I'm not getting a sable puppy quite yet! Thank you all for showing me the horror I almost walked into. I appreciate it.

I live in Ohio in a heavy Amish area. I would never consider and Amish bred puppy. I wouldn't count on a health certification and probably not even vet checked.. As someone mentioned above they view it as income and the dogs as livestock and not a member of the family.

If your wanting a certian color I'd suggest finding a reputable breeder and go from there.

I've looked around at all the breeders in my state/near me, but haven't found one that I'm willing to buy a puppy from, yet. Guess I'll just have to go farther out of state than I was hoping. Once again, thank you guys.
