Default Idk what kind of dog this is???

I know this is a gsd forum but my sister got this new puppy and was told it was part beagle part Bernese mountain dog. Idk... What do you think ? The pup is 4 weeks and was orphaned which is why we have him already.

It is a cutie! It's so young I can't tell. I looked at the pictures before I read your post and I thought it was a JTR mix. But I really can't tell.

I can't imagine BMD and Beagles mixing. But anything is possible. It is a cute little bugger, too young to tell I think though.

Do you know what either parent was - as least the mother? I'm not seeing the Bernese Mountain Dog either. Funny Nancy said, "JRT". The puppy looks very much like my shelter mix, which a beagle/Jack Russell. Your pup is even the same color as mine. That color in a beagle is called lemon.

You will have to keep posting pictures as he grows. I LOVE mystery dogs. LOL!

The mom was a beagle for for sure. I saw her. But didn't see the dad. I was just told he was a BMD.

Hmmm, Maybe daddy isn't who they think he is. LOL! It will be fun to watch him grow. He is adorable.

Was this the only puppy of the litter born? If not, there could be two sires.

This pup looks nothing like a Bernese or a Bernese mix. My Bernese puppies at 4 weeks old are much bigger than this guy.

wyominggrandma, I didn't seem Bernese either, but if the dam was a beagle, wouldn't the puppies tend to be smaller, at least at this age?

Still trying to get my mind around that mixture managing to do this.

What a cutie!

My guess would be beagle/terrier mix?

Just love him and enjoy that baby!
