Can she break her own ear?
My 12 week old has allergies and I am in the process of finding out what they are.. However she woke up from a nap and started itching her ear really hard and when she was done her ear was flopping down and still is. Until now they were both 99% up and this was her strong ear that always stood up good :( is it possible to break their own ear permanently?

I don't know about breaking an ear, but they can give themselves a hematoma, which can cause scar tissue. My Buddy has a crooked ear from one. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...76408456_n.jpg

Sometimes, our dog will tell us when something is wrong by the way their ears lay. If she has something bothering her ear, like a tick or infection, she could lay her ear down.
It might warrant a quick trip to the vet to have her ear checked. |
Can she break her own ear?
She was just at the vet yesterday and she noticed cuts inside her ear and told us to take her off her food. So I buy her an expensive bag of grain free puppy food without any dairy or beef and tried to wean her off her old food and she won't touch it. Ugh. Now I'm worried her ear won't go back up, can the cartilage break that easily?
