Default puppy coat

Hi i yogi still has his wonderfully soft puppy coat and i was wondering if there are any trick to keeping his puppy coat when he grows older or is it impossible to prevent that coarse coat from setting in, not that it matters. i just love that soft coat he has now and would just prefer it. i was also wondering if he will lose most of his darker color the vet entered him into the computer as black and tan and we were playing with another gsd at the park and the other owner said that her dog used to look like yogi up ended up having mostly light colors.

He's going to lose the puppy coat.

And he will lighten. How much he lightens though, is variable, you'll have to watch and see.
