What should you be able to feel on a puppy?
At my last vet visit my vet said my puppy was a bit underweight, and now that I've switched food and been able to up it without diarrhea I'm starting to not feel his ribs/hips/backbone without some prodding. I know its bad for a puppy to be too fat or skinny, so how do you tell when a puppy has reached optimal weight? I can't go by visual, because he's 50% fluff. I have felt puppies that don't seem like the even have ribs under all that puppy fat, and leaner puppies...so not quite sure.

Puppies grow so fast and as long as she is healthy and eating well, I suggest you enjoy your pup and don't worry about the weight.

Well the ribs shoul be felt when running your hands along the side or shes fat. and looking from above you should see a waist at the ribline or shes fat. The vet may be used to fat dogs. Whats her weight and age in days? A skinny puppy is best for the dogs future.
