Fiona has this problem too. I find it convenient when in mixed company. I took her from kibble to raw with no change. Not sure it is food.

Is there chicken in the food? I had a dog that farted and it was the chicken in the food, had to switch foods and the farting stopped.

I have 2 GSDs. My male, no issues... my female, farts like the queen of farts. I do not understand why... same diet... she likes to come for affection, sit on my foot, and rip one
It's like "REALLY Nala?" You had to do that on my foot, again?!? And then all the other times I jump off the couch to find the air freshener cause she did it again.... yeah, she's STINKY...Oh well. We love her

It's a digestion issue. Most likely she is having trouble digesting some ingredient in her food. What are you feeding?

Dazedtrucker
I just about died laughing ![]() with your post. With Emma I just blame the Wife![]() In turn she blames me![]() . She Emma - not the wife, are not too bad - just once in a while, Her's are SPD's usually created under my chair. I agree it may be a digestive issue. It's on the list my vet gave me as a symptom of a possible food allergy. Possibly ask your vet. |

Penny is 4 months old and has been on a mix of raw and kibble diet since about a month after I got her, and she farts like crazy and its so raunchy! lol I think Im not going to be feeding raw anymore though as I dont have a local place to purchase the raw food and have to buy from a groceries store and think this may be part of the problem as she didnt fart before I started her raw, so going to try to cut the raw out for now and see if that changes anything or if its the kibble that needs to go...

I been thinking about asking about this as well. Dexter is on Royal Canin GSD Adult - dry food only diet, but he still lets them rip, mostly when he's lying in the room with us but sometimes he'll trot down the passage and leave a little stink for us there too! And I am convinced he thinks it's a huge joke... He will turn around and flash me the naughtiest grin ever....
