The person telling you about bones was probably speaking of cooked bones. NEVER give your dog cooked bones. My pups actually swallowed most of the chicken wings whole. Had one bone come out whole in the poop too. The ends of most of these bones are round. This is where the joint is. No sharp points. When the dog chews these bones, the stomach digests most of it, breaking it down. There are several threads on here about feeding raw.

This is what I want to do with Nita. I would like her to know both for when one or the other won't work - verbal on a loud windy day, verbal if she is in her crate and can hear me but not see me, hand for when she can see me, etc.

I will do that. Once I find a butcher I trust. Cause at least in India, raw chicken has the possibility of carrying salmonella. But I will find other bones without meat on them. He needs things to chew that are not my arm.

Leo used to be fairly calm and now he seems to be going through hyper moments. Actually hyper. Could it be the food? Or just him growing up and therefore having more energy?

Thanks for all the great advise!

A picture of my arm lol.

My Siberian Husky knows that pointing straight down means sit. It's just a habit I had when I was teaching him, but turned into him learning it as a nonverbal command. Pretty cool, and when the new puppy is here, I'll be teaching her hand gestures, hopefully.

That's kinda how Leo learned as well. I just happened to make the same hand gesture every time. A Siberian husky huh? I find those dogs to be so gorgeous! I in fact always wanted one, and may get one sometime in the future. Do they go through a bad land shark stage too? Or did you get an adult husky? just curious.

No, there is nothing wrong with your dog.

German Shepherds turn into sharks about the 12 week mark, well at least ours did. They are notorious for their landsharking ways. They will bite and nip just about anything.

It's normal. Enjoy it. Our guy has already kind of stopped since he's getting his big boy teeth. They're a lot of fun when babies.

Put anything you actually like out of reach or its done and gone. Will be torn to shreds.

There are many methods to try and get them to not bite you.

Just make sure you teach them some bite inhibition. We limped our way through it and now its nearly gone.
