Default crate bedding or no

My pup seems to one moment like it when I have her a cushioned blanket in there, then the next she refuses to go in her crate until I remove the blanket and its just the plastic bottom then she will go in and lay down. So should i just keep it with no bedding? Makes me wonder if that is even comfy.

I use the padding when he's in the crate in the truck to cushion the blows of potholes and bumps, but in the house he seems fine on the plastic tray. The cushion becomes more of a chew toy.

I agree with Thorny- My pup loves to have her scooby doo blanket in her kennel with her but sometimes, I find her just laying on the plastic bottom alone. I thought she'd be interested in having a comfy bed since she likes having her blanket in there- no such luck! I bought it over the weekend and the first 30 minutes i put it in, she had it torn to pieces!

Depends on the dog whether they like bedding or not, both mine love their beds

For a young puppy a towel or two should be enough, easy to clean and remove but not enough to entice them to eat it hopefully.

I'll put in a small thin blanket. Cheap little throws you get at a super store. Some of my dogs will scratch around on it and curl up. Some of them will scoot it out of the way and lay on the plastic. Easy to wash and didn't spend an arm and a leg if they chew on it.

Only issue we had was a pup that would pee on bedding but not if it wasn't there ... after replacing three,, no more bedding

Kylie likes to pull her bedding out of her crate and wrestle with it. She hasn't actually tried to eat it yet. I do often find that she has flipped the bedding over to one side of the crate and is lying on plastic tray on the other side.

I don't put anything in their crate. I'm afraid they'll chew it, destroy it, swallow it etc. it's a nay for us...

I felt bad that mine was on the metal, but when I put a blanket in there, she moved it out of her way or took it out of the crate. She ate a bed once too, but that wasn't in the crate, she just didn't like the bed.

Talos had a crate pad, and then he chewed the stuffing out of it. (literally)

Since then, he has a towel now that I rotate every few days to wash, but most of the time he shoves the towel into one corner and sleeps on the plastic. He'll also shove his food and water bowl off his plastic mat and try to lay on that instead of the $40 dollar bed I bought him. Puppies!

Oh well!
