Default Blayne

Blayne is our new Gsd and our first. Got him at 7 weeks he is now 16 weeks love of our lives!! We have 3 kids and 3 persian cats. Blayne has very high prey drive he is Eastern European working line. Just what we wanted but i thought by now he would stop chasing the cats. I guess it takes more time then i thought. Good luck with your new addition. He is adorable!!! And as for the chasing the cats mine hasn't stopped yet and he is 5 months old now. Needless to say we are going to training classes in two weeks. Hope they work for us!!

Not chasing our cat has been the hardest thing for Nita to learn. She just turned 1 this weekend and she is almost there. We are still working on it, she can do leave it for everything except Max <sigh>

We still use our baby gate so he can walk freely without having to worry about her.

I'm in a similar boat, except Fezzik doesn't chase the cats so much as he tries to play too rough...I try to keep on top of him but I wish the cats would give him a good swat or two so he'd learn. Sam and Shooter put up with it, Jack has trained all the dogs to leave him be.

What a cutie! And I have a 1 and a half year old who is not to bad with the cats, not great but not horrible, Xerxes, my 10 month old is bad though. I'm hoping he grows out of it. /sigh hehe

Max bats the heck out of Nita when she noses him, but he was a declawed rescue when we got him so the batting doesn't do much but make Nita think it's part of the gaming
