I have two German Shepard puppies! It's extremely cold here. My question is, Is I safe to put Ice Melt on my driveway? I heard rock salt is very dangerous for them. I don't want them to slip on the ice and get hurt. The 3 month old is usually on a leash but the 8 month old I let run around the yard.

I would, and do use sand. It doesn't melt the ice, but it provides traction on the ice and doesn't dry out paw pads.
