How Big?
 

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give a rough guestimate as to Willa's size when she is all grown up. My husband and I have bets going, so I'm curious to hear the input of others.

Her mother is a standard GS and weighs about 85lbs, her father is a King and weighs in at 120. She was 10 weeks on Sunday, and is about 17-20 lbs.

Being a Female I don't think she will ever reach the 100lb mark but it is possible. If I was to bet I would say somewhere in the 80lb range. Of course her diet could play a big role in these numbers.

at 16 weeks, double her weight and add ten pounds.
This is a *rough* formula given to me by the breeder/vet.

Just out of curiousity, do females ever get over the 100lb mark? I'm a new GSD owner and haven't a clue. :confused:

Ha that kind of sounds like mine. Her mom was a standard GS weighing about 75-80 pounds and her dad weighed like 115-120 pounds. She's now 7 month's and weighs about 65-70 pounds, i need to weigh her. I always get asked how old she is, than get the "Wow really, she's big for 7months! I thought she was older" or "Really, my female is 2 and is 75pounds" lol. Makes me feel like i have a moose on my hands! lol but i love her :)
