Safe Chews (5month old)

So my guy doesn't really seem interest in Antlers at all.

I've given him Bully sticks, Rawhide, chewsalot (or something like that from milkbone), marrow bones from the butcher (when we can get them)

I know that Rawhide is a worry spot, he's never left alone with any chew, and any large chunk of rawhide he gets off we take and throw out. Even then I'd rather something else... but he's a puppy and I want to provide stimulating chews cause then he's not chewing things he's not supposed to :P (Like my children or cats :p)

Any suggestions?

Have you tried the Himalayan "Churpi" chews? It's made from natural Yaks milk.
My pup used to love them when he was little, it was only after he got his adult teeth that I had to stop giving them because he would eat them like rock candy, lol!

I have a five month old also, he loves the Himalayan chew - I get mine from organicbullies.com. He also loves, loves, loves braided bullies & moo sticks (cow tracheas), doesn't care much for the regular stick bullies, go figure. He also loves his chilly bone - refreezable bone (soak it in water then freeze), that I got at Petco.

You should be able to get marrow bones from the reg grocery store. If they aren't in the meat case ask the butcher...

Mine weren't hugely interested in Antlers either till I put them (the antlers not the dogs!) in a bowl of hot beef stock for a few hours.

It seems to very very slightly soften the antlers enough to get the dogs chewing a bit and getting some of the marrow. My dogs don't like them as much as bullies, but will chew them when there's nothing else.

Mine also love dried tripe sticks and beef scalp.

bull hooves or horns, the dentley's kind come stuffed, which might make it more interesting. My pup loves them, they're his favorite...also beef ligaments, but he goes through them fast and gets terrible gas
