Hi all, I have a female GSD (Lyja) who just turned 1 this month. I got her at 6 months old from a friend who was moving overseas and couldn't take her, she was already housebroken and had basic obedience, so I pretty much picked up from there. She's my first GSD and it's been a great experience so far!
My boyfriend now wants to get his "own" dog - he's wanted a boston terrier puppy for quite a while. He's found one who is 3 months old, male, good around kids and other dogs - well, as good as a 3 month old pup can be, at least. So my question is this - what should I expect from Lyja when we bring the new puppy home? She's been around plenty of small dogs at the dog park, but all adults. I don't believe she's ever been around a puppy, at least not since I've had her. Because of the size difference I want to make sure that the puppy stays safe, so any tips are appreciated! We will be heavily utilizing crates and baby gates, but I know there's more that I haven't thought of. |

Really your dog is still a puppy too
Is there any way to introduce the dogs before the puppy is brought home? Mine loves little dogs, but you have to remember GSD's can play rough and you guys need to know that, so you don't think she is trying to kill him. Hopefully it all works out
