I first noticed Gunnar barking out of frustration when we would not let him do certain things. That is okay to me. Then I trained him to speak when he wants to go out so tht I could put a command to the action. W now have "speak" in our bag of commands.
Then when we started going to the dog park, Gunnar started barking at the other dogs when they would play rough with each other. Not an angry bark but his frustrated one again. I think he wants to play but doesn't known how to get them to engage with him. And now in the home, when he's in his kennel in the hall upstairs, he barks at non family members when then walk by or play within sight of him. How do I train him to stop barking? |

i taught my dog "quiet" and "no barking". i can also place my first
finger vertical across my lips for quiet or no barking. when my dog parked i use to place my hand around his mouth and say "quiet" or "no barking". then i always placed my finger over my lips and said "quiet" or "no barking".
