Puppy at Day Care
I dropped my puppy at "day care" or "puppy preschool" today for the first time. Ever since I got her at 7 weeks, she has never been away from me for more than 3 hours tops. Because she's got her 2nd shots and I needed to go away, I looked into day care for her.
I called in to check in on her and they said she's a bit anxious but doing okay. She was hiding under a toy thing but now slowly getting introduced to the other dogs. Normal? Anyone have any experiences with this? I'm not exactly worried but slightly concerned. I'm sure she'll get used to the other dogs. Her temperament is that she bounces back and is generally curious.
I researched the best place and everyone had raving reviews and testimonials. The owners were great when I met them and the tour of the facility was good. The place is 4000 sq. ft. and the dogs are separated by size and by puppy and adult dogs. The play rooms (there are like 3-4 of them) have TONS of toys like you just stepped into a ToysRUs and apparently they introduce a new dog to another one just like it as a "pair". And eventually released together into the litter of other puppies.
