How much can my pup walk

My GSD is 7 and a half months old today. Every friday i walk down to my school to pick up my brother and just wanted to see if kai could come along (there and back of course making it a total of 4 miles.

The school is 2 miles away in which you have to go over a hill (hes been over the hill before). When we reach the school he will have at least a 15 min break before we walk back. the walk there will not be brisk but casual.

Currently our normal walk is about a mile and a bit. He gets 2 of these on weekdays. When im off and on weekends he gets longer walks about 1 and a half to 2 miles

would he handle it?

Ya I think he should handle it fine. If it's hot out, then I'd bring some water for him as well.

Its freeeeezing here in the uk at the moment

. only thing im worried about are putting him through much and his hips?

He shouldn't have any problems. I've been hiking with my dog for 4-5 hours (with some breaks of course, and she's going at her own pace) since she was about 6 months old.

I'd bring water regardless ... more if it's hot, less if it's cool outside!

Maggie has been hiking to my office (3 miles round trip) since she was 4 months old without a problem.

If you're worried then maybe take a break in between every now and then and like Minoli said bring water Hot or Cold they still need a drink.

You can walk your pup as mush as she wants to. 4 miles doesn't sound like too much at all unless there is extreme heat. Let your pup set the pace.
