Default Declawing for show?

A friend told me that declawing is part of the qualifications for showing you dog?? My baby is 17 weeks old and has not been declawed yet. I don't know anything about show dogs so any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Where is your friend getting this information? Dogs do not need to be declawed for showing or for any other reason. Could she have been referring to the dewclaws?

Yes dew claws. I apologize. Not sure where he got that info but he stated that if we wanted to put her in shows that the dew claws would disqualify her. I don't know why it would be an issue but wanted to make sure that I'm doing things right. Thank you

On the contrary, I think GSDs are required to have front dewclaws. If we are talking about dewclaws on the rear legs, it's a fault, but I'm not sure it's a disqualifying fault.
