Puppy chew toys question.

I have done some searching and have not found the answer I am looking for.
I think I read somewhere about "hard" chew toys not being a good idea at some point. I don't remember when that is though. We have a 13 week old and he loves to chew. His favorite is the nylabone that is more of a hard rubber. Problem is, they don't last long. He starts on one end and keeps going until the nubb is almost gone, then we throw it out. I don't like the fact that he ends up eating the little pieces he eventually works off.
My question is, is it ok to get him the harder bones or antlers to chew on? Or is this bad for his teeth? Or is it only bad when his adult teeth start coming in? etc.

When my pup was that young and was teething I used to give him Churpi Chews, they are Himalayan chews that are made of Yak's milk and my pup loved to gnaw on it. When he got older I had to stop giving them to him because he would eat them like rock candy, lol.

I used the Nylabones that were made of the hard stuff not the rubber. I got the larger ones and mine are still in good shape and they are unable to bite pieces of it off, or let me say my two have never bit any off. It turned out to be a good investment for me.

I never did this but I've heard that freezing a wet cloth works well as a chew toy...

I never really provided chew toys to my pup. I guess that's why I'm several pairs short of shoes now :c I did give her frozen carrots though...

I would like to get the "hard" nylabones for him, or antlers, I just want to make sure it is ok and will not harm his teeth.
We do the carrots and frozen wash cloth that was soaked with broth, but both of those do not last long. (20 mins or so)
He likes his kong if it is "treated" but otherwise does not really have any interest in chewing on it. He loves his stuffing free toys with squeakers but most squeakers last about 10 mins and then need to be replaced.
