OK, so the 40" will fit him OK? The XL on the link is 40". I'd think that would be big enough.

I know, I know! My wife has a couple new pics on her phone. I'll have her help me get them to post when she gets back. My truck battery died cuz she left the back "mood lights" on when we got home Saturday night. Oops!

He's REALLY dark now!!

Oh, the one one the link looks like it doesn't have vent holes in the back. This is OK though?

The one I linked is exactly like mine...flat top and rounded door latch. I see the ones on amazon and ebay are different with bumpy tops, vented backs and the flat square door lock. I think either is fine....like I said, I did drill holes in the back of mine for better air flow. I'd search for best prices and possibly free shipping if you aren't in a big hurry for shipment(or little pet stores usually get deliveries once a week and can add on a crate fairly easily~support the locals!).

Karlo hates having a pad in his crate, he bunches it up and digs at it so he is on the bare plastic. I did put an anti-fatigue mat under the crate for some bump reduction while traveling.

Ah, I am just going with the one I linked to. It's exactly the same as what he has now, but larger. I think that's the best way. I'm going to order him a pad for it because he loves the other bed. If he doesn't want it in there, I'll just put it on the carpet in the living room for him. The old gal gets cranky when he's on her bed, LOL!
