My big guy just got neutered yesterday at the age of 7 months old. Hes wearing a cone to keep him from licking or eating the stitches and the doctor said he has to wear that cone for 14 days. Do i really have to wait that long, or is 7 days enough, 14 days seems like it is really long? Im gonna go by how it looks, but any help is appreciated.
thank you, he is so sad looking right now, I feel awful. |

Well then our vet usually recommends removal at 10 days, but definitely let the dog wear the cone for a week.
Then at 10 days see how things are going. We've had dogs remove their own stitches (rescued/fosters) but if that's going to occur we'd like the dog to at least wait 7 days, 10 would be preferable
