Safest ageto microchip?

Since we decided to keep one of the puppies from our litter what age is the safest to microchip? All of our other dogs we got at approx 4-5months of age and had it done at their follow up visits for shots. This little guy has his 2nd vet apt for Nov 14th and he'll be 11 wks is that to young? He weighs approx 22-25lbs already at just 10 wks. Should I wait until his 3rd visit? What is everyones experiences.

Any age, I believe.
We (in rescue) do them when they are adopted, if at 8 weeks or whatever age.

We got Rocco's when he was 11 weeks.

I do them the day they are officially mine at 8 weeks. I want there to be no mistake that this is my dog should for some horrible reason they get lost or someone questions their ownership.
