what's my puppy?

Help, Back in Nov 2011 a family left this poor little 8 week old puppy he weighed 10lbs in the park, nobody claimed him or wanted him so we took him in as one of the family. My question is he looks like a shepherd but what kind? He is around 5 months old? he weighs in at 43 pounds. And he is so smart. We really want to learn more about his breed and to make sure he gets the best of everything.

His name is Meiko- We think he is around 5 months old.He has a personality that is like no other. We have 3 Teens that are always playing with him and he learns new things everyday, first week we had him he was potty trained and he already knows all of his basic commands. I have a question about shepherds It says to give them a job, What kind of job? We have always had Lab mix and this is new to us along with having a male, we always had female dogs. We also have a American Bully female that we also rescued from a shelter when she was a puppy she now 7 yrs old and they get along great. Whats the best place to get information on Meiko for everything that I need to know?

i agree he does look like a white GSD. 43lbs at around 5 months old a decent sized. As for the give him a job, really its anything. His job is to sit for his meals and wait until released (if you do that). You can teach him to turn lights on if you wanted to. Teach him to fetch your shoes. Teach him to put his toys away in a bucket or basket. Really just anything can be a job for them. They like to work and be with you. My girl goes to obedience classes that i mentor in with me. Her job is to demonstrate some of the commands, play nice with puppies and nervous dogs. I bought her a doggie back pack and she has a job in carrying that when we go out and she's wearing it. Her job is to carry her things. Just about anything you ask of them can be considered a job to do.
