My mixed breed's feet were like that for awhile and here's what I did and it worked! I slathered Bag Balm (it's like Vaseline and I imagine Vaseline would work just as well) on all four feet and then wrapped saran wrap around her feet and covered that with an ace bandage or vet wrap. Do not wrap tightly. I did this every evening for at least a week, might have been 2 weeks. I left the wrappings on all evening/night and removed in the morning. She tolerated it pretty well after the first few nights. It did make her pads much softer though so you might try it.
