I have 3 dogs 2 of them loves toys. My pup and my old dog. My older dog loves to just sit and destroy toys. My pup likes to rip them but also plays with them.
Seems like I am going threw more dog toys then I even have before. My puppy needs the toys to keep her entertained when we are at work. No stuffed animal toys because I have a young kid and don't want the dogs to see stuffed animals as toys. Anyone make toys and give me some ideas? Maybe has a website with good deals. Maybe you found a toy that your dog likes that's not a real dog toy? My pup plays with pine cones and sticks. They are free toys. But get boring.

I have a 13 week old pup with about a million dollars worth of toys. His favorites are...
1. Empty milk gallon (cap removed) 2. The plastic measure cap from a large bottle of laundry detergent I bought at BJs 3. Chinese tupperware from the local take out place. I could have saved a fortune!

Riggs is 14 weeks and his favorite toys are an empty plastic water bottle and a sock with a knot in it. Lol! He has Kongs, stuffed animals, sticks, bones, squeaky toys...the whole 9 yards...but his favorites are the sock and the water bottles.

I did the same as yellowjacket, though one of my dogs likes to chew/swallow it. I made 5 nice braided/knotted tugs for $7 on Sunday!
My dogs destroy stuffies, so I never buy them. The water bottle/milk jug is great too. As far as balls, cuz balls are pretty durable and the dog can't choke if catching them. I also recommend elk antlers for chews, they don't stink and last a long time. |

Check your local goodwill store for cheap stuff for them to play with. I think they are .10 cents each.
Also, boxes are good. Another member on here suggested hiding treats in them. Works very well. Keeps them busy for awhile. |

I've taken the squeak piece from a destroyed toy, stuffed it into 2 thick socks and knotted the top.
It's almost like a binky for Joey, although he will give it a good chew when he gets excited. When he destroys the socks, I start all over again. |

Plastic bottles are always a favorite either 20 oz or 2 liters, she loves milk jugs, her very favorite DURABLE tug I've been making for years since I was a kid and had great danes, we takes old jeans and cut the legs off (like you're turning them into shorts) and tie a big knot in them and TA-DA you now have a sturdy tug toy. One of Jinx's I got a bunch of strips in one side kinda like fingers so it's extra floppy when she shakes it and she will play with it for hours either with us or by herself (and the puppy when we were fostering) and they last for a really long time even in rough use (also we have NEVER had a dog go after our clothes because of playing with them) also we do stuffed animals we get for free from craigslist and freecycle and even when our daughter leaves her stuffed animals all over the house Jinx never touches them she knows they are not hers. Cuz's are like $6-10 but they last a long time and the dogs love them

We recently were at a Target and found a toy that resembled the stuffing free furry pet - but it had a plastic water bottle in it - and squeakies in the tail and head (Wendy got the skunk, Bailey got the squirrel). They love them and play with them ALL THE TIME!
When they are no longer crunchy - you un-velcro their bottoms and replace the water bottle with a new one (sans cap). BEST 7.00 each toy we have EVER found... if only they made them in a duck lookalike.....
