Default neutering question

When neutering a pup.. aprox 6-8 months old, does the pup go home from the vet with an e-collar? I hate those things and know that there are better types of collars avail that the vet doesnt usually sell. I don't remember what my other dogs had when they were sent home.. thanks

Probably not. You can request one or not.

Depends on the dog.

If your dog is going to immediately lick/bite out the stitches/staples/glue then the collar is needed. Or you just have to go back immediately to spend alot more money at the vets to close it all up again...
