My new puppy has decided I deserve lots of early Christmas presents in the way of constant bites. My hands and arms are all scratched up. It looks like I got in a fight with a cat.
I just went through this about a year ago with my girl Cedar and fully understand what is needed to teach bite inhibition, but being prepared doesn't seem to make it easier to deal with. He's only 9 weeks still so although we're working on it, I'm not expecting to see much results just yet. Cedar was around 4 months before the constant biting stopped. I thought for sure this time around would be much easier, but it hasn't been. I just don't think there's an easy way of dealing with a land shark, short of wearing heavy clothing and gloves at all times of the day. Oh well, hopefully only 2 more months to go. Got through it once, we'll get through it again. |

Aaaah, I remember those days. It's bad when you're going through it but soon it will be a fond memory.

RTFLMAO....ahhh I am SOOOO glad that time is over...wearing ski gloves, double jeans ahd long sweatshirts in the summer....Mine nothing worked till about 4-5 months old and then it magically stopped. My arms looked like sandpaper shredded. They should hang a neck tag on all GSD pups stating that construction clothes are required the first 4 months

I am in complete sympathy with you. My girl is only 2 but how quickly I had forgotten how bad it is! Cooper is only 9 weeks as well and this is a trying time
I can't believe how strong his bite is when he is latched onto my jeans!

They don't call them "Landsharks" for no reason
I remember those times as well!

You said it all: you got through it once, you will get through it again.
I am guess that you are just venting but really know what 'the deal' is. Good luck getting through it. You know you have a lot of company and empathy. |
