Hubby and I took Hazard out for some off-leash exercise and we walked along the beach at one of the state parks. Hazard kept sniffing at the water and she pawed at it, so she knew it was cold. We weren't worried she would go into it because it was so chilly, but as we walked back to the car she turned the bend and bounded right in! It was funny until she just stood there and looked at us and whined, like "what do I do now?" She wasn't in very far but didn't know what to do! I called for her and tried to entice her with treats but she apparently didn't know she could move in the water. Hubby had to roll up his pants, wade in and nudge her in the right direction. It was really funny, but my hubby's legs were pretty numb. Hazard seemed to be doing just fine and we all went back to the car and blasted the heat. I couldn't believe she just splashed right on in! What a goof ball! I think this summer we will have a little swimmer on our hands.
Just thought I'd share this silly story. |

Haha awesome story...sucks ur husband had to go in when it was so cold.
I hope my pup turns out to be a swimmer ...I'm not sure how much german shepherds like the water in general. I just know mine hates taking baths so far...

Apparently she prefers ice cold seawater :P Point is, you never know! I hope that mine will still enjoy the water when it's appropriate for her to go swimming
