I have read the pros and cons of everything puppy, and one about crates is that pups feel more at home with a plastic enclosed crate instead of just a metal crate?
Any thoughts? =) -Keegan

We use metal. Couple of reasons. Size...Kaos is big so he has a 52 inch model, never seen a plastic one big enough to hold him comfortably. Our puppy being a Mastiff mix is also going to be big, he is currently in a 48 inch. Our dogs enjoy being able to see everything that is going on on the occasion they are in the crate with the door shut. They love to lay down and watch, so I am not sure they would be as content w/out view access.

We use the metal crates. I have two kings sized flat sheets i wrap around them to help contain everything. I would prefer two large plastic crates but they're much more expensive and not as easy to tear down and clean up if theres an accident. The only problem I really have with the way I keep the metal crates covered is its a pain to recover them and I have to wash the sheets every week or so but it really helps cut down on the fur that gets out of the crates.
