German shedder is right! ;)

My girl was in heat just before she was shipped to me, and had blown her coat. It is grown back in, and my breeder told me that she will blow coat again in about May, when her next heat is due. I have been currying, raking, combing and brushing twice a week- and the tufties are still numerous. I could stuff a pillow with the fluffy undercoat I get out. I think I will be ordering my Metro blower soon! Haha! How often do most of you groom? Once I have my blower, I have been told it will get more undercoat out than my manual raking. I don't mind grooming at all, it is a nice bonding experience!

With my two, we go out to the reservoir,to rake and brush so the wind blows it away. It still looks like we've killed a few small rabbits when we leave.

I brush my standard coat every few days. Since I spin wool into yarn I am thinking of carding up some dog fur and knitting her or myself a coat.

I have spun sheep, many breeds they're all different wools, llama, bunny angora, alpaca, goat, camel and yak. In fact, all in patches sewn into a blanket all natural colors. Might as well add dog. My teacher spun fur from a great Pyrenees. It was very fine and soft. Might as well add GSD.

Once I have identified that my dogs are blowing coat oppose to normal shedding - I brush them daily. Otherwise once or twice a week, sometimes not even that. I have 1 longcoat and 1 stock coat.

For my longcoat, this is what 1 30 to 40 minute session produces at the beginning of the season.

Hahaha! I love how you made another dog out of it! Makes you wonder where it all was hiding before you Groomed! Too funny!

And, speaking of blowers, I just went to order a metro force 4 hp blower off Amazon, and although the title says 4 hp, if you read the description below, it says 1.17 hp. What's up with that?
