Tasha has come along way since I got her. She is/was a poop eater from day one. I would clean it up as she goes. Then she got giardia.:surprise: As most of you know poop eating and giardia do not mix. Along with a vet she was treated for it. But to no avail, due to the poop eating. She got bigger, quicker, and smarter at getting to the poop before me.:frown2: I tried everything to get her to stop eating it forbid, pumpkin, pineapple, etc...nothing worked. After some time she was having diarrhea constantly to the point it's getting dangerous. Something needs to be done to get her to stop eating it! So, I took it to the extreme and got an ecollar. I put the collar on her and continued to take her out on leash as I normally did, when she was about to eat it, I stimmed her on low level. After a shock or two, she got the idea! She no longer tried to lunge for it! I treated her for the giardia again and within a week her poop improved!:smile2: Finally after quite a bit of time I'm ready to give Tasha a try at going outside and doing her duty without being leashed. She did superb! She's finally walking away from it!:smile2:
Over time and training she also walks nice for me. She would go nuts when we would pass people and dogs:surprise:. Got a prong collar and used that. We are now able to pass people without her even flinching. She walks right by side. :smile2: I take her to home depot, she is perfect! A few people even thought she was a service dog because of her behavior and was surprised when I said no she's just a pet/companion. I'm currently working on her "see a dog and go crazy thing". I take her to petco and sit outside near the doors for her to see other dogs and correct her when needed and praise when she ignores. She's starting to come around to ignoring the dogs, a bit more time and she'll be good with that too!
She's 16 months and 106lbs now. She's the best dog in the world to me! Of course there's small issues to work out, but the walking with me was the most important thing for me and that was accomplished. But all in all there is no fear aggression, resource guarding, and other serious issues. I'm blessed with a really good girl, I love her to pieces!
