Aaaaw, good boy, Midnite, and good for you for rescuing tiny, helpless wildlife!
When I was a kid and we had just moved to a farm, what is the first thing any kid wants? A dog!
We got a medium size poodle. Yes, a poodle. This dog could have kept up with any Cowdog, Border Collie, etc.
She didn't know she was supposed to stay clean, have the "poodle cut" or pink bows in her fur, lol.
She looked like a black mop and could swim in the pond, chase baby calves and roll in cow manure with the best of 'em.
One day she managed to kill a full grown groundhog, and while most farmers would be thrilled, we discovered MAMA groundhog had left behind 6 helpless, tiny babies.
Yes, you know exactly where this is going.
We raised those babies till they were old enough to be on their own.
We have a picture of me about 8 years old snuggling a tiny groundhog up to my neck.
I know...the last thing you want more of is something that is the scourge of every farmer on the planet, lol, but we couldn't let them starve!
