Lightening has hit twice
WD died last summer as a result of auto immune disease. Then last month D started limping and we all thought it was a Pano flare-up. But it looked more severe so we had him X rayed. Devastating news: severe elbow displacia and more bone related issues. The story is too long and it doesn't matter anymore. The breeder has been super supportive and has given me D's litter sister (his pick of the litter) after having her x rayed and the prelims of elbows and hips came back excellent.
It was a weird decision to take her home but I decided to just do it.
She is lovely and trained in the basics. After two years of struggling with health problems, finally a dog that I can see a future with.
Her name is Deja.
I am planning on letting her go through two heats and then decided what kind of spay surgery she will have, depending on her behavior during the heats.

Do you still have D?

D is at the breeder and can not come back to me since I cannot give him the life he needs. I choose not going into further details for confidentiality reasons.

Having had a dog with auto-immune disease, I know how exhausting, frustrating, and heartbreaking it can be.

So sorry about D and his orthopedic issues.

Deja sounds like the little angel needed in your life right now. Breeder sounds very compassionate and tried to make things "right."

Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry to hear that. Best wishes for you and Deja though. :)
