Default What your dogs exercise routine!

Shiggs, Tys, and Dexters exercise routine

40 minutes of running around and playing ball in the morning
30 minutes of casual walkies in the afternoon
1.5 hours of ball play and running around in the evening
2 to 3 hours of swimming weekly (except shiggs, she hates the boat and water)
10 to 15 km of mountain biking bi weekly ( unless it is hot out, then i take them on a solo 1 hour stroll in shaded areas)

And i just started my 10 km a day brisk paced walks, today i brought Tyson with me.

My mom calls them triathalon dogs lol,

Mine is still too young for long distances. We can do up to two miles if the weather is nice. If he tugs on his leash I take that to mean "I want work to do" so we practice heels, stands and come, etc.

Sounds pretty close to a triathlon to me!

My dogs get to play disc at the park about 4 - 5 days a week, for about 15 minutes each. Maybe one hike for each of them a week or every two weeks, at about an hour long.

Maybe 2-10 minutes of training in the house every other day for Recon.

Patton plays crate games a few times a day + 2-10 minute training session every other day.

Then events one or two weekends a month. That's about it. haha. Recon the border collie is 2 and Patton the GSD is 9 mos.

Kaia starts off in the A.M. with a Barre workout and then a Bikram yoga session....after a beef cutlet smoothie she's ready for her Pilates class followed by a spinning class. She gets a break again and has a hot stone massage with a quick nibble on a raw shredded chicken energy bar. She closes the day out with an aerial fitness class, her trainer is the same one Mariah Carey uses.

I'm thinking of getting her into Cirque School but my dog is CA ( Clown Aggressive )..so I'm not sure she would do well with the Cirque trainers if they are in full make up.

So my pooch basically does what everyone else's dog is doing I guess....

After she's all done we hang out, drink beer and eat deep fried treats...and then do it all over again the next day.

Our summer exercise routine is more impressive than the winter one... haha.

- 30 to 40 minutes play time in the yard in the morning with each other / toys.
- 30 to 60 minute walk in the afternoon/evening OR running the dogs at one of our training fields.
- IPO training couple times a week.
- Swimming for an hour every two weeks or so, along with sporadic swim trips here and there.
- Hiking for 1 to 3 hours a few times a week if we are lucky.
- Sporadic events (lure coursing, etc), meet ups with some groups I train with occasionally, etc.

Hunter also gets one on one time working wildlife with me.

Once or twice a week we do NOTHING at all and be super lazy.

In the winter we do as much hiking and walking as we can, and my IPO group should have access to an indoor facility this winter which will help keep the dogs in working condition.
