New GSD - Worried about neutering

I just got a rescue GSD, and the day he came to me he was neutered. I hadn't done much research, and didn't realize that GSD's needed to be neutered late due to growth. He is just under a year (probably 9-11 months) and was neutered Wednesday.

Should I be worried??

No. Enjoy your new companion. Spend your time on training him and not on worrying about what age he was neutered at.

Enjoy him!

You know, he might have reprecussions from the surgery later on, he might not - who knows! LOL

But worrying about something that can't be undone won't change what the future holds, but can make for a pretty misreable life for you guys if you are worried about something at every glance.

Most likely your pup will be just fine, enjoy your dog and have as much fun as possible, because in the end, they are never with us long enough ;)

Keep in mind he is in a new place, just had surgery; so he may appear a bit 'off' for a few days. Then on top of that, he will take a few weeks to get truly settled in his new home.

Don't overwhelm him with new people coming in the see the 'new dog'. Let him heal from the surgery and get settled in first. Concentrate on the bond between the 2 of you.

Congrats on the new pup :)

restrict his exercise. i had trouble doing that with a real active one, and my boy wound up looking like he hadn't been neutered at all. i said, well, what the heck? called the vet and found out the sac had filled with fluid. lesson learned the hard way. keep him quiet.
