Default How many times do you brush your dog?

how many times a day do you brush your dogs coat? I know German Shepherds shed a lot but my pup sheds so much! (probably normal though) but no matter how much i brush him there just is more and more and more to brush! It's never ending! i would probably have to brush him for maybe 4 hours to get all his loose hair out lol. once i sweep the floor about 5 minutes later its covered with hair again! So how do you manage all the hair?

It's a routine for me to brush, clean ears and cut nails on the weekend.

German Shepherds do shed alot however I think diet plays a huge role in overall coat health. I use a combination of a slicker brush, rake comb and shedding blade (looks like a loop).

Does he get fish oil - what are you feeding? How old?

I brush my GSD once or twice a week with the Furminator.

I have the yellow one for large dogs but I can't remember if it's the long haired or short haired brush? I bought it off of Ebay for $12 like 4 years ago.

Right now I'm brushing my guy Every. Single. Day.

OMG!

He's shedding his winter coat and I swear as soon as I think I'm done for the day, he shakes and more fur comes flying off.

Thankfully, he loves to be brushed. And vaccumed I usually take his brush with me on walks, and let the neighbor kids who want to pet the big doggie brush him. Child labour at it's finest.

Once, twice a week. I use the Metro blower and it helps a lot.

I wonder if Rusty would tolerate a blower? I know that just gets all that undercoat crud out.

Not as much as I think I should.. once a week usually... I use a furminator followed by a regular brush.

I have all tile in my house and I too have to sweep constantly. I should do it daily, but every other day is more routine for me.. and yes there's heap of hair.. every. single. time. Lol.
