What type of coat does my GSD pup have?

Hi guys!

I'm new here, and I haven't found a specific section for this so I'm posting this here. We recently got a German Shepherd puppy from Craigslist, and the owner of the mother said that the mom was registered with the AKC but the father wasn't. We were wondering what kind of coat our pup will have when he gets older and if anyone can give a picture if their dog looked the same that would be great!

Mom: Short haired, (But hard to really tell she gave birth to 9 puppies so she wasn't looking too healthy)

Dad: Plush coat, same pattern as the puppy.

This is our puppy, Ronin. He's 8 weeks old.

Regular short coat and will be a light black/tan with a lot of tan and a small to medium black saddle. Facial mask is tiny so he probably won't retain a lot of black on his face.

His coloring on his face makes me think he is mixed with something. I could be totally wrong though. >.> He is a real cutie nonetheless. Short coat.
